OUR Residents come first

A legacy of compassionate, affordable and accessible care for Alberta seniors

We're committed to providing care and support to those most vulnerable and least able to advocate for themselves. We offer the highest quality care with integrity, empathy and respect for all.

CHAA's members have more than 35,000 spaces and employ more than 22,000 staff in our not-for-profit sites across Alberta. Thanks to the generous contributions of volunteers, donors and various subsidy programs, we're able to ensure our continuing care and housing services are accessible to those most in need.

What We do

So much more than long-term care

While our early years focused predominantly on advocating on behalf of hospital, auxiliary hospital and nursing home services, today our education and advocacy work encompasses the entire continuum of care:

  • Long-term care

  • Supportive living

  • Respite care

  • Specialized geriatric psychiatry and Dementia care

  • Complex Care

  • Rehabilitation and post-acute care

  • Home care

  • Day support and recreation programs

  • Meal programs

  • Palliative and end-of-life care

  • Affordable housing for seniors and adults with disabilities

OUR TEAMS

Our staff are like family

We're privileged to work alongside so many incredible staff. CHAA operators have a long history of strong staff relationships, camaraderie and support. COVID has taught us there's so much more we can do to strengthen the quality of life (and work) of our teams.
