A board with a mission (to excel)
Never before in our history has there been so much change in continuing care. CHAA’s high-performing board has continued to lead and support our member organizations through the changing landscape.
The COVID-19 pandemic put unprecedented demand on CHAA’s board to come together quickly and decisively on emerging issues. We provided exhaustive support to our member associations and offered considerable advice and direction to Management. We made important contributions to the sector's COVID response as we:
Developed provincial recommendations on COVID funding for the sector.
Advised on staff and resident vaccination programs.
Developed new human rights and accommodation guidelines.
Developed safe visitation protocols in congregate settings.
Created surge staffing protocols.
Throughout the pandemic, we have also stayed the course on our commitment to conduct extensive research and advice papers for policymakers on:
System funding
Contracted services and fees
Legislation and regulations
Workforce and staffing models
